Top Ten Books That Inspire Me To Travel

I am SO excited for this week's TTT hosted by The Broke and the Bookish because it is combining two of my passions in life...books and traveling. So I twerked the topic a bit and I compiled a list of the Top Ten Books That Inspire Me To Travel. All the places in these books make me want to go there! Yay! Can't wait to see what you guys picked!

Places I've Been

Just One Day by Gayle Forman (review)--I've been to Paris and it is magical. The streets, the culture, the architecture, it speaks to you. I would love to go back but Forman represents Paris in a perfect representation of the city. 

The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory...or any Philippa Gregory book--I LOOOOOVE historical fiction and these books talk about places and palaces that still exist. I love being lost in the past and having been to London to see some of these palaces it is absolutely breathtaking in person. Nothing compares. One of my favorite countries EVER.

Venom by Fiona Paul (review)--Venice is AMAZING! I cannot talk enough about how beautiful this city is. You get lost on its streets and that is totally the point. You can wander for hours and city on water is one of my favorites!

Places I Want To Go

Arcadia Awakens by Kai Meyer (review)--Sicily is where my family is from and I am SOOOOOOOO excited to go there in October! It is probably 1 on my bucket list and I am dying in anticipation. This book makes me feel like I've already been there...*sigh*

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead--Oh em gee, I sooo wanted to book a flight to Russia after reading this. If it weren't for work I would have upped and left. For serious. Russia has moved up in my must-go-to places after this. 

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (review)--Prague is one of the cities I will go to in October and I'm probably gonna run around yelling Akiva...but for serious. Prague is one the most ultimate cities for culture and history. Right up my alley.

Juliet: A Novel by Anne Fortier--This takes place in Siena and I am DYING to go to this city! It is divided up into contradas and each is represented by a different animal. It is just beautiful and I can't wait to go there...Honeymoon?

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Gold--The entire history and lore of the Geisha is something I am utterly fascinated by. I have wanted to go to Japan to see their history since I read it years ago. It is such an elegant and foreign concept to me that I am just obsessed with it!

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova--I have never really had the desire to go to the obscure eastern European countries until I read The Historian. They go to such crazy, obscure places and the writing is so fantastic that it makes me want to go there...124 days...

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berehndt--I am usually not a huge enthusiast of traveling the states but after reading the amazingness that is this book, I need to go to Savannah. The writing of this book is so poignant and fantastic that you feel like you've been there. It is so detailed that you can see it perfectly in your head and I MUST go there...maybe this summer...
