Kwaheri, Again

No, I don't know Swahili with the exception of 'jambo' for hello so yes, I had to look it up for the title of the post. As many of you guys may know I leave for Africa this afternoon--EEEEEP!!!! I am so freakin' excited I can hardly contain myself! I'm meeting my very good friend who is from Australia there and we are going on Safari for 2 and a half weeks. SO that means the blog will be a little quiet. I have a few review posts that needed to be scheduled while I'm away so with the exception of those, Belle of the Literati will be quiet :(

BUT I'm hoping to be able to randomly post some pics via Twitter depending on the wi-fi availability buuut I'm not holding my breath on that one. Africa has been a place I've been wanting to go to since I was a teenager. I cannot wait to see the breathtaking landscape and sights of the animal in the wild. I'm also going to the island of Zanzibar for a few days and I am SO EXCITED about that! Google image 'Zanzibar'...seriously?! It looks magnificent. (Actually, forget it, I'll do it for you. See below.) A friend of mine grew up in Africa and has seen the good and the bad and told me this trip should change my life...I can only hope...

I'll miss you guys but I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done whilst traveling to and from Africa on my 22 hour flights and what not. Hopefully they'll keep me entertained on the layovers and flights, bleh. This is the first time I'll be traveling somewhere solo that is SO far away! I've done New York and Canada but never overseas independently so I'm pretty excited--in a weird way--to prove to myself that I can make the trek all alone and be completely dependent on myself. I know that probably sounds weird but I'm really looking forward to just being by myself and figuring things out until meeting up with my friend.

Well! I'll see you guys soon and hopefully can connect via Twitter sporadically while I'm gone! Peace and love!

  9. When you get back I would love to hear all about it. I have wanted to go on a Safari in Africa for quite a while now and it's on the top of my travel list. Looking at that map, it looks like you are doing something like what I am looking for. So jealous!
