Top Ten Favorite Characters in Dystopia!!!

Hi lovelies!!! This week's Top Ten Tuesday hosted by the ladies at The Broke and The Bookish gives us a little room for exploration. We can pick our top ten favorite characters in whatever genre we want. SO sticking to my roots I chose Dystopia!! This is a genre I love and just cannot get enough of! Not gonna lie it was a close race between dystopia and fantasy but dystopia won this round. AND I had a really tough time trying to think of some cool graphics or pictures to include AND I decided to highlight one of my favorite propaganda slogans...the ever popular Keep Calm trend. I tried to mix in a little humor so I hope you enjoy! Here we go!

The Girls

1. Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games- Like I can have a list about dystopia without including this kickass heroine. She is my absolute favorite. I cannot say enough about her. Strong, independent, fiercely loyal and minimally distracted by the two hot men vying for her love. Love her.

2. Lena Haloway, Delirium- I've said this before, but if I had to compare myself to any dystopian lady, Lena is one of my two. She is a rule follower and afraid to upset the balance...at first. Then she just goes crazy and rebels and it is just amazing. Her growth through 3 books is incredible.

3. Gaia Stone, Birthmarked-This girl is the other dystopian heroine that I most relate to. Independent, stubborn, strong-headed and as opinionated as the day is long. This girl is a fighter and she does whatever she needs to do to protect her family. She is one for the books for me as far as characters go.

4. Tris Prior, Divergent- Talk about taking a 180. Abnegation Beatrice to Dauntless Tris is just so cool. She fights. She can handle weapons. She is smart. She acts according to her heart. I adore this character. She just has so much strength yet fragility at the same time. It makes her real. It makes her relatable. It makes her kickass and cool.

The Boys

5. Four, DIvergent-Um, this is pretty self-explanatory. Strong, smart, good with a gun, brooding, quiet. He is just swoonworthy to the max. Love love love.

6. Thomas, The Maze Runner- Oh I heart Thomas. So much. I fell in love with The Maze Runner and Thomas is just one of those characters that is so inherently good. He acts with his heart and morality in a world that is so destructed and evil. He is one of my absolute favorite characters of all the books I've read.

7. Perry, Under The Never Sky- Oh Perry. Again, such a good guy. So protective. Fantastic leader. Always thinking of others before himself. Swoon.

8. Jonas, The Giver-Legit, going way back to my roots. First and favorite book (well, one of) and Jonas is a phenomenal character. He is so in tune with his emotions and is so caring. He does what he think is right and always follows his heart...even when the choices are tough.

9. Adam, Shatter Me-Just like Four, do I even need to explain this one farther? Once more, just a good guy. He is so selfless and amazingly caring. He looks out for his brother and is always the protector and the one taking care of everyone else. *sigh* *swoon*

The Villians

10. Warner, Shatter Me-Sorry not sorry. And yes the pun on that Keep Calm poster is intended, thought of it myself :) This is the one bad boy that I love. I am NOT into the villians...ever. Warner is my exception to the rule. After reading Destory Me I saw him in a whole new light. I don't know what it is, he is just so broken and endearing to me. I just wanna snug him and take care of him. Haven't read Unravel Me yet, hoping to read it, like, today. Can't wait :)

Hope you liked my Top Ten Dystopian Characters!! Cannot wait to see what genre you all chose and who made the cut! :)

  3. I think I'd have to choose Guy Montag, but then again I've read very few dystopian books.

  4. YAY FOR WARNER LOVE, haha. You'll definitely like Unravel Me then. I totally agree with Katniss, she's pretty much a staple to any dystopian list. I really liked the change in Tris too and excited to see where she goes next. This is a wonderful list, Kelly!

  13. Damn you! I was sitting here at the computer... sun was shining.... drinking my coffee, which I must add had just the right amount of cream and is the perfect temperature--- that rarely happens. Then to top it off I'm reading your list and having all these *moments* as I think back to the amazing books and THEN I HIT FREAKING #10. You had to do it!!! Suddenly.... the sky turned cloudy, my coffee tastes a little chalky, perhaps even luke warm..... and I've lost my appetite. Happy TTT to you!!! ;)

  14. I absolutely adore the way you formatted this list. However, I agree with Betty. I looooved your list and then number 10 happened :( But I will ignore that and fangirl over #9. KEEP CALM & SHOWER WITH ADAM? Heck yesssss <3

  15. Love the keep calm posters! You have so many characters on your list that I love. Lena, Katniss, Tris, Four, and Adam, but I think my favorite inclusion was Perry! I wasn't the largest fan of Under the Never Sky, though I do want to pick up Through the Ever Night sometime, since I've heard it's even better, but Perry was by far the best part of UtNS for me after Roar. Still stuck in my ways of hating Warner, however.
