An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling. Discover the story that garnered more than two million reads online.Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate—and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative—completely infuriating—creature he now has to see every day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules—or outright smash them—if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increase to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.

My Thoughts

*WARNING: THIS BOOK IN NOT YOUNG ADULT, IT IS ADULT FICTION WITH EROTICA AND NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE UNDER 18*

Alright, well now that that's out of the way I can tell you about this totally guilty pleasure (no pun intended) read of mine. I saw this on NetGalley, it sounded good and when I got approved (HOLLA!!!) I was so excited to read it!! I am not a weirdo, I swear...well, ok, that is not entirely true, I am a weirdo but in a funny way...right?...Anyways. I looooove young adult books. Don't get me wrong but after a while I have to switch it up and get back into the adult world. And weirdly enough, the adult books that I love are usually contemporary or historical fiction...real people with no dystopian or fantastical tendencies. Strange...

Anyways. I cannot lie. I have found that my dark and cynical heart loves a good romance. Especially one with a little sass. Beautiful Bastards is just that. The heroine of our story is a smart business woman working towards her MBA. Legit smart. She is sassy and sarcastic and doesn't take no shit (pardon my poor grammar but it felt right). Her boss Bennett Ryan is your typical Type-A Alpha male with a God-complex...oh and obviously he looks like sex walking. So these two hate each other. He's a bastard. She has to pretty much do everything exactly as he wants or he'll flip shit. This is not your typical mushy love story with soft words and romantic gestures. They really despise the other...

...and then they sleep together. Lots of times. In a lot of places. Smokin' hott is a way to describe the intensity of their chemistry. I mean wow. I felt like I was fanning myself at some points because these two are both loud, opinionated, fierce and not one to back down. This leads to many verbal encounters that leave the other in disarray. They fight and bicker and scream at each other and I was loving it. It was hilarious. They were like two pit bulls constantly going at it and biting at one another. And when they finally shut up and listened to each other, the tender moments they did have were just beautiful.

This book was a fast read. I did not want to put it down...so I didn't...so what if I read it in basically one day...sue me. I just could not get enough of the interactions between the two protagonists. The dynamics they had were explosive but heartfelt and sincere. The characters and synopsis may seem cookie cutter erotica for how much this genre has blown up recently but this is not a cookie cutter story. Real life situations occur. Legitimate problems arise. It isn't just all about them. It felt real. The story felt real. The actions felt real. It never once really felt like an outlandish situation that would never happen in real life. That is what I really liked about the story. A relationship about two very real people.

This book was a really fun, sexy and emotional read. I was rooting for the characters and I wanted to pull my hair out at some points because of how stubborn they were! But I loved it. If you're looking for a quick read with some steamy scenes then check this one out! Sexy and smart and an all-around good time. It comes out on Tuesday so you don't have to wait long at all for it!! :)
