Mug Life {1}

Hello, all! Today I'm introducing a new feature I came up with that I'm really excited about. It's no secret that I love a cute mug. I love book-inspired ones, Queen-inspired ones, funny ones, love them all, can never have enough! So the feature is obviously called Mug Life and will include a picture of one of my favs, the current book I'm reading, and the nail color I'm currently rocking which all will be described in the acronym of MUG! But thanks to Hannah's input, I'm not stopping there. So Mug Life becomes...

Kiss List--August 2014

Where did August go?! No seriously, when I was catching up on some blog stuff I was all, oh my gosh I need to get my Kiss List together! It's the end of August, what?! I can't believe it! Without further ado here are my monthly favorites!! :)

Make-Up

Sephora Collection Luminizer in Stardust (Sephora)--Y'all, this aluminizing powder is AMAZING. No joke. It's inexpensive and it totally highlights and adds the perfect amount shine with just a hint of shimmer. $14

Sephora Collection Blush in Coral Crush (Sephora)--I love blushes. I love finding different shades to suit the season or my mood or my outfit and this is the perfect summer shade. It's bright with just a hint of orange color. Not clown orange obviously but that pinkish-orange hue to really brighten up my cheeks. $15

Music

Uh...because who DOESN'T have tho on repeat?...I do...No shame. Haters gonna hate? Just shake it off.

Bang Bang by Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Jessie J
I am all about blasting this song in my care and on my iPod while I work out. It's upbeat, catchy and I can't get it out of my head...I also feel like a total badass when I work out to it...I don't know why.

All About The Bass by Megan Trainor
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I love this girl singing out curves and boys wanting a little bit more booty to hold at night. This song is fun but with such an amazing message. Not hating on the lithe girls out there but there is always way too much emphasis on being thin rather than fit. Embrace the curves ladies...I do :)

Kiss List--July 2014

So it's been awhile since I did one of these and I decided to tweek what I initially wanted to do with this feature. I LOVE looking at people's monthly recaps and I can see how much time and effort everyone puts into them. So instead of a monthly recap just about the blog, I'll combine a monthly recap and include some book topics AND my 'Kiss List' of my favorite things in makeup and fashion and music the past month. Let me know what you guys think and if you like this kind of recap! :)

Make-Up

Origins Active Charcoal Mask (Sephora)--I love this mask! I use it once a week when I feel like my face needs a good deep cleaning or I've been noticing a few blemishes. It leaves my skin feeling completely fresh and clean. It also is an inexpensive alternative to the ever-amazing Glam Glow products because those masks retail at $69 and I feel the same results from this and it's almost a third of the price. $25

Cover Girl TruBlend Loose Mineral Powder (Target)--You guys! They discontinued my Maybelline Mineral Powder I talked about a few months ago. Gah! So I'm all pissed off at Target and was all, fine I'll try this one and I LOVE this! It gives me just the same amount of coverage as Maybelline and it feels super light and sets my tinted moisturizer. I was pissed off but it ended up turning out to be a really good thing! Yay! $8

Fashion

High-Waisted Shorts (Urban Outfitters)--So the ones I want to feature I got from Urban on sale for legit 20 bucks but I couldn't find them online SO that's what the look like. Not gonna lie, I love this trend along with a good crop top. Sorry not sorry. You have to be careful because they can totally give you an unflattering representation of your ass but the right ones will look hot. Very retro. Totally classic. $20

Big Floppy Hat (Target)--I recently went to the opening day of the Del Mar Racetrack in San Diego and it was TOTALLY the excuse to buy one of these amazing big hats. I have ALWAYS wanted an excuse to wear one with a cute dress and this was it. Totally loving this look. I need to go back just to wear this hat again. But I could also wear it to the beach so there's that. $14.99

Front Zip Tank (Express)--I don't know what it is about this tank but I love it. I legit have it in 4 different colors. It is comfy and cute and can be dressed up or down. I wear this out doing errands and I've worn it on dates. I love love love this tank. $39.90

Music
Thanks to reading Open Road Summer I've had Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood on repeat since. The fun and catchy lyrics and the up with girlfriends and down with boys who treat you right but also swooning for a romance is stealing my summer heart. Can't get enough of rolling down my windows and jamming to these songs!

Character Couture--The Sea of Tranquilty

So I love clothes. To an unhealthy amount. I love fashion. Bags. Shoes. Jackets. Boots. Anything and everything having to do with clothes. So I thought it would be fun to include a fashion portion to Book Pushin'! The Sea of Tranquility is the name of this game. I LOVED picking out what I think Nastya would wear. And I couldn't leave Josh out, either! Alright, let's take a peek inside their closets, shall we?

Nastya Daytime

Nastya loves black...we all know this...well you SHOULD know this because you NEED to read this book! Anyways. because I love leather, I like to assume Nastya does, too. It's comfortable. It's sexy. And the most important part about it...it's so totally badass. You see a chick in leather pants or a black leather jacket, you might wanna stay away from her. I love these looks and I think Nastya would totally rock the leather.

Nastya Nightime

We have the timeless and classic LBD (Little Black Dress) for school and scaring off people. The second dress is date night with Josh. I LOVE this dress when I saw it for Nastya because it's black--DUH--but the small floral pattern keeps it feminine and not 100% Nastya badass.

Nastya Make-Up

While this girl does not have her token red lipstick, I see this as a total win because...well...black shit.

Nastya All The Time

The infamous stilettos. I love heels. I love a girl who loves heels. Nastya rockin these shoes every day made me love her even more. And I know this is totally impractical as a middle class teenager but in my head...Nastya only wears Louboutins...*sigh*...

Josh Daytime

The infamous work boots. I picked these because they weren't 100% ugly but still badass and work approriate.

Josh Date Night/Sunday Dinners

Swoon. I think Josh would fill this out nicely with a pair of belted khakis...yep...no work books with this attire...just no.

What do you guys think?
Did I do their wardrobes justice?
