Top Ten Books I'd Want To See Made Into Movies...In a Perfect World...

Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish talks about the dreaded books to movies *runs away screaming*. I have mixed feelings about all of this. While if somebody is determined to turn one of my favorite books into a movie, I'll just as excited as everybody else to see it on opening day BUT in my perfect world, Hollywood would leave books alone. If you don't take the time to read the book, you don't deserve the story...but I digress. In a PERFECT world, there are some books I'd love to see played out live...here we go!

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
I would love nothing more than for the world of Calaena, Chaol and Dorian to come to life. Imagine this done perfectly!! Seriously!!

Girl of FIre and Thorn Series by Rae Carson

Again, picture the amazingness that is Joya d'Arena brought to life...not to mention Hector...rawr

The Entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series

WHAT?! A girl can dream about seeing those sexy vamps all up close and real...whew, I'm gonna go faint now...

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

The magic, the scenery of past and present Europe would have me salivating in the theater.

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Again, in a PERFECT world, I want to see Shadowhunter 1800s England come to life. Oh and I guess Will Herondale would be a nice bonus...or all of it...

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

While this would break my soul in half to see it played out, imagine the utter beauty of this story being told to see...wow...

Splintered by AG Howard

Who doesn't want to see another version of Wonderland played out on the big screen? Plus, this story is amazing and epic and totally kickass.

The Boleyn King by Laura Andersen

I love me a period piece and to see what could have been with Anne Boleyn's son ruling England...also Dom...I need Dom...

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

The chimera!!! OMG I WANT TO SEE THE CHIMERA!!

Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund

Sorry, I'm cheating and this book isn't out yet but WHEN you read it you will totally want to see this world come to life before your eyes.

Can't wait to see what you guys picked!

  1. I LOOOOVE your list. Girl of Fire and Thorns made mine too and I would have put the Throne of Glass and Infernal Devices too if I could trust them to do a way better job than City of Bones

  6. Actually, The Infernal Devices series is those kind of books for me that should be left alone. Even if the movie would be good I'd just like it to stay in my head :p

  7. BDB could easily be the new "True Blood". I think that "The Discovery of Witches" would have to be a series - there is so much especially if they went back into Elizabethan times. Here's my T10T

  8. The Boleyn King would be awesome! I have mixed feelings about Throne of Glass and Fire & Thorns, just because I love them so much I'd fear a movie might ruin them.

  9. BDB would be great but I hope they would make the villains more threatening in a show.

  13. CNV would probably kill me -- like, SOBBING from the start -- but that would be an amazing movie!
I would LOVE to see DoSaB on the big screen too!! That would be so awesome and interesting to see everything with my own eyes instead of just my imagination.
There are so many of these that I still need to read too!!

  16. I cannot believe I forgot to include Clockwork Angel. I wouldn't mind seeing Will, either :)

I haven't read Across the Star-Swept Sea, but it is a retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel, which is on my TTT. I love that story. I'm glad to hear the book is so good.

  17. Daughter of Smoke and Bone would have to have some AWESOME special effects and good casting for all the characters and everything. Will would have to be casted perfectly, as would Tessa. If it was done correctly :) it would be amazing!

  25. THRONE OF GLASS - yes please! I want to see Chaol on the big screen and DROOL over him. Oh, um, and Celaena and Dorian too, of course. Also, Nehemia! I love her. I need to read CoM asap.

Whoa, what?! I still need to read ALL OF THE OTHER BOOKS on your list. I'm mostly very excited for Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which I want to start sooon, and Code Name Verity. But I'm a bit nervous for that one, because of ALL the hype.

Sigh. I wish Hollywood would STOP ruining movies. They better not ruin Vampire Academy because then I will be SO ANGRY.

  26. Ok, do I need to read Girl of Fire and Thorns? I don't love fantasy and the summary sounds kinda strange... but I feel like you know if I would like it. So tell me, mmm k?
