Top Ten Tuesday! Authors That I'd Put On My Auto-Buy List
Hey ya'll! Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and The Bookish! This week we talk about our favorite authors! Eep! These authors can do no wrong. They write, I read, 'nuff said. These are my Author Auto-Buy List :)
1. John Green-Um...need I even go further on this one?
2. Gayle Forman- See above rationalization
3. Tahereh Mafi-Her writing is in a two way tie for the most beautiful creation I have ever come across...her running mate? Check out #4
4. Lauren Oliver-Seriously? Lauren Oliver can do no wrong to me. Her writing is so poignant and emotional that Before I Fall and Delirium trilogy left me emotionally raw. Can't get enough.
5. Philippa Gregory- While I actually have to say I have not read ALL of her books, I will read ANYTHING that she writes in regards to the Tudors or The Plantagenets. Her final book The White Princess should come out this year and I am peeing in excitement!
6. Kate Morton-One of my fav authors EVER! Every single book she writes I fall in love with. So much beautiful historical fiction, all in regards to British aristocracy, I just love it all.
7. JK Rowling-This also comes with stipulations because I have not read Casual Vacancy but if she ever decides to write YA or MG again...I'll be first in line.
8. Cassandra Clare-As if I have to say anything more than 6 words...The Mortal Instrumets & The Infernal Devices
9. Deborah Harkness- I am in love beyond words with her All Souls Trilogy and will read anything else she decides to write.
10. Caragh O'Brien-I pimp out her Birthmarked series as much as I can and I cannot wait to read more by her because she is just brilliant.
Can't wait to see which authors get all your wallets opening!

Totally with you on Cassandra Clare. And if JK wrote any more YA I'd definitely auto buy!

Belle I love your choices. There are so many Authors there that I love!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Top Ten.
Have a wonderful week :D
Philippa Gregory! I thought I'd be the only YA blogger around with that name on her list. I love her books about the Tudors, even if they're pretty inaccurate. They're so entertaining, and they're what got my interested in that period of history.

I still can't bring myself to read Gregory despite a few friends saying I must. Yay for Deb Harkness being listed! She's great.
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Literary, etc
aaah I can't believe I didn't add Gayle Forman to my list, putting only ten authors on my list was so hard to do. You have a few authors on their that I have never heard of although I am not a huge historical fiction fan so that might be why. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteKristin @ Young Adult Book Haven
I was going to put JK Rowling down but didn't for the exact reason you said- I haven't read Casual Vacancy and not sure I want too.

Sabina @ Delirious About Books
I've only just read my first Gayle Forman book, but now I want to read everything she ever writes. And J.K. Rowling - duh! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteTara @ Hobbitsies
Oooh, great list! All these are really great authors! :)

Nice list! I have John Green and Caragh O'Brien on my list too. And I agree about JK Rowling. I haven't heard anything good about Casual Vacancy, so I doubt I'll ever read it, but the second she publishes another YA book/series, I'm there.
ReplyDeleteBesides those three authors, I haven't read any of the others on your list. But I do have Lauren Oliver's books on my TBR list though.
Ashling @ Reading, Writing, & Anything But Arithmetic
J.K. Rowling is awesome, but I wasn't very impressed with A Casual Vacancy. Although, if she does decide to write another young adult novel we'll be fighting for that first spot in line. Great Top Ten!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Philippa Gregory is also on my list :) I adore her Tudor books and I can't wait to read part two of the Planagets series. J.K Rowling is great, but I'm still scared to read A Casual Vacancy. I liked Lauren Oliver's Liesl & Po :D
ReplyDeleteMel@thedailyprophecy.
I'm with you on J.K. Rowling. I LOVE Harry Potter as much as the next (fan)girl, but I've heard only terrible things about CASUAL VACANCY. If she publishes a new MG or YA, I'm totally buying it; otherwise, probably not.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have found you via TTT!
The only one I have read is John Green. So far I have only read Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars. I loved them both.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! How did I forget Tahereh Mafi on my list? My list is incomplete without her!!
ReplyDeleteOf course I've read JK Rowling, but other than that I am sorely remise on the other authors in your list. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Top Ten.
Good choices for this TOP TEN! I'd love to read the last book by John Green (The Fault in our stars). I've also chosen J.K Rowling, obviously! :)
ReplyDeleteAnna's bookshelf
Yay for Gayle Forman, Tahereh Mafi, Lauren Oliver and JK Rowling! Mafi and Rowling made my list, too, but I almost included Forman and Oliver. I'm so excited to see what they write in the future.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love finding out that you like historical fiction! It's my favorite genre :) I'll have to be sure to share some of my favorite historical fiction picks with you!
You listed my favorites! I adore Tahereh Mafi and Gayle Forman (ALL THE FEELS), I need to read more Lauren Oliver (and freaking read Pandemonium already) and Cassandra Clare (...I have no excuse), and I haven't read The Casual Vacancy but I <3 J.K. ROWLING FOREVER. And John Green. Just... John Green. Teehee.
