Bookish Goals and Movie Magic

Hello there, lovelies! So first of all I have to say that I am uber excited to be writing this post because I get to tell you that I am making headway on not only one, but TWO, of my bookish goals you read about this week. Eep! Yay! Ok, so my first goal I am making progress on is I just completed my first re-read of books and completed reading an entire series beginning to end! That series was Delirium...*sigh* It felt amazing. The books are so beautiful and the writing in brilliant and I just fell down the rabbit hole completely for 2 days...yeah, that's all it took. 2 days. 3 books. Countless moments of amazingness. I'll be posting all 3 reviews about a week and a half prior to the release of Requiem. I wanted to do a big lead up to the final book with my review of Requiem being posted 1 week before the release date. SO EXCITED!!!!!

Secondly, I'm writing a post NOT about books...weird, right?! Besides reading I am obsessed with fashion and I loooove going to movies. I've totally been lacking on my movie viewing though, I have to admit. I've been so encompassed with books and the holidays and working. And with the exception of a few movies, not a whole lot of them stood out to me until recently. You know that list that Entertainment Weekly puts out about the top 25 movies to see before Oscar night? Yeah, I usually have seen about 19 of those movies when the list comes out...I've seen like 5. I'm ashamed. But this past week I did see two movies that were AMAZING!!!!

My sister and I went to see Wreck-It Ralph and holy crap, I heard a lot of people say that the movie was way better than they expected so I had a lot of reservations going into it. I'm a total movie snob. I'll admit it. I don't really trust other people's opinions on them, I just let myself decide what I think. Oh my gosh. SO FREAKIN' GOOD!!! It was adooooorable!! I just loooooooved it! The themes were so heartfelt. The messages were beautiful. And the little girl in it is so darn cute I wanted to squeeze her!! Perfect Disney movie. Obsessed with Disney as a rule, and they really nailed it with this one.

The OTHER amazing movie I saw was Django Unchained. My expectations were high on this one for several reasons. I am in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. Yes. In love. Since I was about 7 years old. He's freakin' Romeo for cryin' out loud! Love love love. Also, Quentin Tarantino is brilliant. I love his films. His humorous use of gratuitous violence is hilarious to me. He's one of those directors that you just get or don't. No offense to those that don't. My mom and one of my friends can't stand his movies. My others friends can't get enough. To each his own. This movie though. You guys, THIS MOVIE. If it doesn't win an Oscar I will eat my hand. The acting is so beyond anything else I've seen in a while. Christoph Waltz deserves another Oscar for his role. As does Jamie Foxx and he got totally ripped off that he wasn't nominated. Bunch of bull on that but anyways. Wow. I was blown away by both of them. This movie is no freakin' joke. It is raw. One scene in particular really got to me. Tears. Revulsion. Shame that people were actually treated like this. Movies like this are so necessary for people to see the horrors that have happened in the past. I was blown away. This movie is excellent and I hope is rewarded handsomely come award season.

Seriously, if you haven't seen either of these movies, GO! I was debating when writing my goals what exactly I would talk about that wasn't book-related and after seeing these movies I totally knew I had to gush to you all.

Hope you enjoyed my first non-book post. *Nervous* Let me know what you think!

Peace and Love!
