Photo courtesy of Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner Oh my gosh, so I totally LOVE stuff like this!! I was so excited to see Jamie create this and ask us to join in on the fun! Took me a little bit of time to get this together and I'm a little late to the party but hey, I'm always fashionably late ;) |
Author you’ve read the most books from:
JR Ward with 11 books...I have no regrets about this. Very close second runner-up is Richelle Mead with 9 books. After that it is Cassandra Clare with 8 books. And I must point out that my top 3 book boyfriends OF ALL TIME all come from these authors...coincidence? I think not...
Best Sequel Ever:
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. Holy hell, did this give me a book hangover...loved it!
Currently Reading:
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I KNOW I'm late to the party on this one!
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Water with a crystal light packet or a skinny caramel latte or frappucino.
E-reader or Physical Book?
PHYSICAL BOOK! While I do adore my new Kindle, I will always choose to have a real book in my hands versus an ereader. I would choose physical book for everyone for the sole reason that if everyone has an ereader then how am I supposed to creep on what you're reading...lean over your shoulder to look at your Kindle screen? Creepy, much?
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
I'm the poster child for unrequited love so I didn't have any boyfriends in high school. But the kind of guy I would have crushed on?...In high school?...I had horrible taste in guys and didn't really care about any positive attributes that went beyond a football jersey...so honestly?...Probably Jude Ryder from Crash or Jase Garrett from My Life Next Door. I am ashamed to admit my shallowness and jersey chasing streak.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Vampire Academy!!!!!!!!
Hidden Gem Book:
Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien. Gosh, I can't say enough about this series...
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Growing up alongside Harry Potter. Also, reading The Hunger Games. I just finished college not too long before this and had been in a reading slump for years. I just couldn't find good books. It also made realize YA is an entire genre of books...seriously, ignorance is not bliss in this case.
Just Finished:
Beyond Pain by Kit Rocha. Holy. Smokin'. Hott.
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Fluffy contemporaries that have no deeper meaning or purpose than an insignificant high school plot or silly romance. Sorry not sorry.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages...still too short...
Major book hangover because of:
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare and Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. ALL THE FEELS!
Number of Bookcases You Own:
2. But soon to be 3. Thanks, Dad!
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The entire Harry Potter series. I have read each book at least 3 or 4 times. No joke.
Preferred Place To Read:
Nestled into the corned of a couch with a blanket.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
Oh my gosh, how can I choose!??!?! Ok I started off by adding a few...then I came to this one on Goodreads and I am not kidding you when I say I actually started crying...so here goes...
“But I believe in true love, you know? I don't believe that everybody gets to keep their eyes or not get sick or whatever, but everybody should have true love, and it should last at least as long as your life does.” --John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
Reading Regret:
I don't think I have any...and I don't believe in regrets in life so I'm bowing out of this one.
Series You Started And Need To Finish(all books are out in series):
I am a series whore. Unless the book isn't out yet...I'm binging the entire series. We all know this.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
ONLY THREE?!?! Ok...
1. The Harry Potter series
3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Extra Credit: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Where do I start?!? Um....Harry Potter, Katja Millay, Katie McGarry, Sarah J. Maas!, JR WARD, VAMPIRE ACADEMY!, Anne Boleyn, WILL HERONDALE!...I think that's it...
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
THE KING BY JR WARD!!!!!!
Worst Bookish Habit:
I play and pull on my hair while I read...no wonder I have split ends...
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi althought the 62nd book on my shelf would have been more appropriate...
Your latest book purchase:
The White Princess by Philippa Gregory
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. LOVED this book!!!
Hope you like my picks! I have loved reading all of yours! :)
Crown of Midnight was my answer to best sequel ever (although I may change my mind depending on other sequels I read in the future), and I am definitely with you on the physical book thing.
ReplyDeleteHere's my survey.
Sarah
Totally agree with you about Crown of Midnight...so freaking good. I just want the entire series to be out RIGHT NOW. I can't wait to hear what you think of The Darkest Minds...for some reason, it only recently came onto my radar, but it sounds like a "me book" so it's definitely on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't read Throne of Glass, so I guess I better get on that soon. I also have Sea of Tranquility just hanging out on my Kindle... sounds like it needs to get bumped up on my TBR :) SO agree on Vampire Academy + being a series whore. I'm a total binge reader if a series is all out, but there are ones that I occasionally fail at & still need to finish.
ReplyDeleteOh man, CROWN OF MIDNIGHT!!! EEE!!
ReplyDeleteAlso: you're reading The Darkest Minds!! I expect lots of feelings when you get to the end! (or maybe you already did, I'm so behind on reading blogposts...)
I totally envy you for doing binge reads on series, I used to do that, but now I never find the time for it anymore..
Crown of Midnight favorite sequel? GAHHHH MUST READ THIS NOW. What did you think of The Darkest Minds? Should I read it? I'm glad I gave VA a chance as well because HELLO LIFE CHANGING STORY. Every quote from TFiOS is perfection. Lol at your Unravel Me sentence. That would mean you'd be 62 though so... *shrugs*
