Book Blogger Love-A-Thon 2013!!

Hey ya'll!! OK so I am SO excited to be a part of the Book Blogger Love-A-Thon hosted by Alexa at Alexa Loves Books and Kate at Kate's Tales of Books and Bands. So this is my introduction post to tell all you fabulous fellow book lovers a little about me and my blog! I started blogging not too long ago in October 2012. I had been thinking about it for a little while because I read so much and just have so many feelings about the books I read that I wanted some sort of outlet to unleash all my emotions. So I toyed with the idea and then never really pulled the trigger...and then I read Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi. That novella was so beautifully written and moved me so much that I HAD to put my feelings into my own words. Thus Belle of the Literati was born. No epidural needed.

Why the name you ask? As a little girl, and still today, I am obsessed with Disney. Beauty and the Beast is my all-time FAVORITE movie and duh, Belle not only was the only brunette princess, she LOVED to read! LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! So I HAD to pay homage to the heroine who always made me feel okay about being a little odd compared to everyone else. And that's it!!

I have loved reading  my whole life. First book that I ever read on my own and that also changed my life was The Giver. This also sparked my loved for dystopia. Harry Potter was my other ultimate obsession growing up...and still today, thus my love for magic and fantasy stories :) I love soooo many books as I'm sure you all do and I'm kind of a mutt. I gravitate toward dystopian and I can never turn down a good fantasy. Sword fights and hoop skirts are always a big crowd pleaser for me. But I will read basically anything as long as the story is interesting and the writing is good. Any genre you guys tend to gravitate towards?

So as all ya'll are. I obsess over books, the words, and hello, the boys in books!! So I thought I'd include these fabulous little e-cards that always make me giggle. Does anybody feel boys in real life really do just lack so much!? Honestly bro, you wanna have mad game and get all the ladies, you need to start reading some YA. You will have the women flocking towards you. Am I right or am I right?

So I don't really know what else to say here....*awkward pause*....OH, so here is some very updated and breaking news for my life today. I just booked TODAY a 26 day European excursion, EEEEP!!!! I am oh so excited!! I was so blessed and fortunate to go to Europe last year and some of my favorite moments of the trip were finding little literary moments in the countries I went to that were book pertinent. So, because everybody likes pictures I thought I would include some of my pictures of bookish moments! Oh and maaaaybe I'll add a few e-cards of bookish moments that are so true and you all will love and agree with! Hope you enjoy!! :0

  2. This is great!! I've looooved getting to know you on twitter and gchat (hahaha), but this paints a brighter picture of who you are than our usual swoony drool fests, of which I adore. haha I love your blog and I'm so glad we have become bookish friends..... believe it or not.... I still like you just as much as I did before you professed your love for Warner all over the internet (of course you even had to mention him in an 'about me' post. ugh.). Keep up the great posts!!
