Sitting at the Sun Gate at the top of/looking down on Machu Piccu |
My first post on Friday focusing on inspiration and where I find it! I would love to hear your thoughts so drop me a comment below if you like it! My review for ACOMAF went up earlier this week, so I only thought it was appropriate to feature a photo and quote from Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas as well as a photo of me on Day 4 of the Inca Trail at the Sun Gate looking down on Machu Piccu. The quote 'You could rattle the stars' is one of my all-time favorites. It's so powerful and fills me with such a sense of empowerment. I hear this or think of this and say to myself, 'Yes...yes! I can do this!'
I find Sarah's words in general to be some of the most beautiful I've ever read. Her stories are so empowering and inspiring that they make me feel like I can do anything, go anywhere, and be a complete badass while I do it. Every time I read her words I feel inspired to do something amazing. Usually it's traveling, sorry not sorry. Life is so short we have to take chances and make things happen. While I'm a firm believer in fate and destiny and that no matter what happens we all end up exactly where we're supposed to be but I also believe in making conscious choices and decisions to make your dreams happen. (The only thing I can't force to make happen is falling in love and starting a family but we can't get everything we want when we want it, can we? :) )
Most of you know I started a new job this week. The are is a little more rural than I anticipated but that's okay! I'm super excited to explore the coast and go to Canada and Maine and everywhere in between! At the same time it's always a little unnerving to be on my own. I always get sad dropping my mom and sister off at the airport. Working on a brand new floor is nerve-wracking to say the least. While a huge part of me thrives on change and new adventures, it's not always smooth sailing and I am not immune to nerves.
But this quote always keeps me going. It makes me remember that I am capable of whatever I put my mind to. Whether it be a new job, a difficult day, or climbing a mountain. We all are capable of anything we put our minds to, we only have to believe in ourselves.
What about you?!
What quotes inspire you to make your dreams come true?
(Note: I've got an Adventures in the Great Wide Somewhere post coming up where I feature all my favorite and most inspirational travel quotes that I'm SUPER excited about! Stay tuned!)
Since you're the Aelin of my life, I'm not surprised that this quote is your mantra! (It's one of mine too.) I think it's such a powerful reminder that you are capable of SO much more than you think, and that you can find that out if only you make a conscious decision to want to.
ReplyDeleteI'm Canadian, so I'm based, but I think you're gonna love it if you visit :)
