Goodreads Description
Her job is to stay hidden.
Too bad he can’t take his eyes off her.
Soldier-for-hire Ethan Hayes is the youngest member of an elite mercenary team. While he may be affectionately nicknamed the rookie, the skills Ethan honed as a Marine make him seriously dangerous. But when a sudden distress call puts him in close quarters with a rival, he finds more than his field skills being put to the test.
Juliet Mason stands out as the master thief in a covert group of assassins and spies. Her latest mission is personal—and it’s gone horribly wrong. Juliet may prefer to work alone, but when the rookie comes to her aid in snowy Eastern Europe, she can’t deny they make a good team. But even up against a powerful enemy, their most challenging task yet may be fighting the passion between them...

This series just keeps getting better and better. I have never read romantic suspense before this and I'm pretty sure I'm ruined for all romantic suspense afterwards. I'm not upset about this. Elle Kennedy has very quickly become one of my favorite authors. Anyways.
This book brings us Juliet and Ethan's story. Eep! I was crossing my fingers and hoping those two were going to be together because their sexual tension and 'hatred' in the last book was off the chain. I was so excited to see how this heartless assassin would yield her heart to the 'kid' rookie of the A-team. And exciting it was. Ethan has this amazing dominant and dirty talking side that NOBODY expected! Least of all Juliet. Personally, I could understand Juliet's hesitation. I would be anxious about the age difference and thinking he was just a kid if I was interested in somebody younger than me so I got where she was coming from. I loved that she eventually saw him as all man and oh shit is he all man! He is strong and capable and sexy as all fuck.
Juliet is equally badass. She had a rough life growing up...really rough. She cares about one person besides herself and that is her brother. When he is killed she seeks vengeance and I love that in a woman. She goes ovaries to the wall to avenge her brother and I loved this. She gives zero fucks and Ethan coming to help her warmed my heart. I loved their dynamic and banter and the journey they took. It was so realistic in how their emotions played out. I loved it.
The political agenda in this book was game on awesome. I loved seeing other members of the team stepping up and helping protect the daughter of the Russian prime minister as well as take out the corruption. And the ending conflict?! Amazing. It was totally epic and broke my heart a little how it played out but in a really good way! If you haven't started this series yet or are looking to give romantic suspense a try, THIS is the series to do it with!
