...and then there are books that sound interesting and you start reading it...and it UNEXPECTEDLY BLOWS YOU AWAY. This is The Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson. It is an extremely worthy component to my RSVP Early To...Club. I had minimal expectations going into it except it was a fantasy and the description sounded right up my alley. I had NO IDEA how f'ing good this book was going to be. The writing style was so FREAKING UNIQUE I was absolutely blown away.
SO! What you need to know about The Kiss of Deception in quick fragmented sentences...
The writing style is unique and amazing and incredible and you will not want to put the book down.
The plot is fast-paced and ever-changing.
The betrayals are present and heart-breaking.
The ending is uh-may-zing.
The mystery is that which will have you foaming at the mouth to figure out the secret.
The heroine is one to root for and fierce as hell.
The world is well-built and the politics are brutal.
The swoons are hard...very hard.
The deception is real...very real.

DeleteProbably not pre-ordering this because I'm not much of a pre-orderer... but I can see myself needing to own a copy at some point! I'm actually in the middle of reading it right now and am LOVING it! I had no idea it would be as good as it is and am getting blown away by just how fantastic it is! Can't wait for the romance to start heating up!
