Kiss List {October 2016}

After, oh I don't know, about 2 years I'm finally bringing back Kiss List which, let's be honest, nobody but me remembers. That's okay. What's important is you're here now. Before it was a mess of terrible graphics and my lack of direction. What I have in place that I hope to do each month is highlight my favorites of the past month in music, beauty, books, travel and entertainment. When most of my posts are about books it should come as no surprise that a book inspired me to pick this feature back up. After reading The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley, I realized how much I wanted to be able to have one post a month that helped me highlight my favorite read of the past 4 weeks because a lot of them get lost in the fray. Which then made me realize how much other stuff I wanted to highlight and talk about as well. So here we go! Kelly's Kiss List October 2016...

On Repeat // I have been OBSESSED with Jason Derulo since downloading a bunch of songs prior to my trip. It was basically the anthem to my UK adventure and what a soundtrack it was. My favorite song I can't stop listening to is Painkiller ft Meghan Trainor. It's upbeat and fun and I rock out to it while in my car, working out, walking around, anywhere and everywhere!

Kiss & Make-Up // I have always had issues with my skin and am a little OCD and anal retentive about what I use. I love being able to give skincare recommendations because of the fact that I've always struggled and would love to be able to help out other people find their routine. I'm an advocate of the Boscia skin care line--which I still use with the exception of this facial cleanser--but I recently bought this Mario Badescu face wash and I'm IN LOVE! I have completely noticed a difference in my skin since using. With the exception of my menstrual cycle, I have not had a breakout since using this! It doesn't suds on my face which I thought was weird and how could this actually be working, but it does! If you have issues with skincare definitely check this out and I'd love to talk more about this if you're lost on skincare, find me on Twitter @xoxokellynina :)

Bookmarked // The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley was one of the best books I've read in a long time. Historical fiction with a dual timeline set in present day, this book was one of those unique and special reading experiences that left me changed. Taking place in one of my favorite countries of all time, Scotland, the writing put me perfectly in the setting and the characters, both present and past, stole my heart to the nth degree. I wanted to re-read it immediately after I finished and knew it would be a longtime favorite and go-to re-read. My review goes up on Monday so stay tuned for more feels!

Wanderlusting // Thanks to The Winter Sea, I might have just left Scotland but I already want to book a one-way ticket back! Cruden Bay is the setting of the book and it's vivid imagery of the bay and castle and hills and small town left me homesick for a place I've never been. Can somebody just give me a life of leisure so I can retire at 30 to a small cottage in the Scottish countryside? Pretty please? The lust is real and I already cannot wait to go back to this country of my heart and soul.

Channel Surfing // While I'm not new to this show, it was the one I was most looking forward to catching up on my DVR after I got back from my trip. I love this show. It's so smart and addicting and while a little, okay a lot, far-fetched I can't help but be obsessed with this show. This third season is not a disappointment so far especially as one of it's main characters is now a scarred, buzzed haircut hottie with a wicked sense of protectiveness. Hello, dream guy. If you haven't started this show, you really should!
