WHAT I Remember
The most unique twist on a plot I have ever read. How Pearson introduces her male characters is something that is so incredibly special and cool that I was just blown away by it's brilliance. I ALSO remember a badass heroine who takes life by the reins and takes charge of her own destiny. I remember swooning. And I remember an epic ending.
WHY I Wanted to Re-Read
I got an ARC of Heart of Betrayal and of all the books to re-read, I knew this was a book that reading a second time knowing what happens will change the way you see it. If you've read this book you know what I'm talking about because of how it's written.
HOW I Felt After Re-Reading
Freaking. Loved. It. I knew Lia was a badass but this second time around I really could see how fierce she is. She doesn't take shit and really knows how to hold her own. I also wasn't able to fully appreciate the swoons the first time around because I DIDN'T KNOW who or if I should be swooning at all!! It was so incredible to be able to fully immerse myself in the characters and faint over all the swoons. The characters are so complex that getting in their head again knowing where they all end up was something I really loved and appreciated and prepped me for HoB.
WOULD You Re-Read Again?
Hell to the yes. I love these characters. I love their emotions. I love Lia and how kickass and strong and smart she is. This did not disappoint and I know I'll re-read again before the final book comes out.
I'm going to be rereading this one soon in preparation for The Heart of Betrayal, and I'm actually excited! I'm hoping that I like it more the second time around, and I can't wait to see what happens next :)
