I loved the idea of this story and I really liked the main character but I wish I had a little more connection to our other characters. I love the take on the reality TV and how this aspect of our society could be evolved.
This book sounds like such a mixed bag!
ReplyDeleteI've heard very mixed things about this one so far. I loved her Birthmarked series so am super excited about this book. But like you, I have been hearing that the romance and characters are hard to connect to. And I've also heard that the main character makes some really dumb decisions... But regardless, I'll definitely be reading it BECAUSE I liked her other series so much.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I wish had been different about The Vault of Dreamers were the characters + relationships! I wanted more of a connection, to be more invested, but that sadly didn't happen. I'm not sure if that's part and parcel of the fact that they often had to be camera ready in the story, but still. Even so, I do think that the premise was pretty damn intriguing!
ReplyDeleteReviews have been all over the place for this one and I can't make up my mind on whether or not to read it. I think I might wait for the sequel because this isn't quite a "me book" and I'm not sure I will like it but I am curious!
