Mini-Review

Y’all. Let me premise this by saying I am firmly on Team Camden even though after Sins and Needles, I didn’t even think the discussion of teams would be a element…but ooooh does On Every Street open up that option. Javier. Holy mother hell JAVIER. If you told me I would be swooning for a Mexican drug cartel leader who is on just this side of crazy, I’d tell you that you were nuts…and then you’d promptly point me in the direction of Javier with a stop to surgically remove the foot in the my mouth. FOR REALS.

This is the story of how Ellie met Javier and how they fell in love. Le sign. Javier is terrifying, menacing, mentally unstable…but just so gosh damn irresistible. Shit son. This guy has charms for days and he is an animal in the sack. Like 10 alarm fire this man could seduce a nun and make the Pope go gay. I don’t know about anybody else but as I’m reading and knowing what happens in S&N, I couldn’t tell if he was genuine or not. And as I kept reading, I realized that holy shit, this guy is totally legit and head over heels for Ellie…which makes knowing how the book ends hurt that much worse…

I was reading and reading and hoping and hoping that it would somehow turn out a different way solely to save the heartbreak I know it caused Ellie, but alas, the beauty of foresight, we all knew what was coming.

Now I’m not saying I’m switching allegiances…I’m just saying I’m open to the idea that Ellie and Javier had something very real and very special…and hot damn, it  makes me even more excited for Dirty Angels and his story!

  1. hahaha you crack me up with your swoons! I still have to read Bold Tricks (I know, I know) but I am curious about how Ellie and Javier fell in love so this novella is on my radar (I really need to start reading novellas more regularly)
