I really love this series. The premise starts off light and fun but then morphs into this legit political discussion and debate. I think the overall series and final book is extremely satisfying and I loved reading these. They are not perfect. You want to equally hug and punch the characters but to me, it is their flaws that make this story real.
haha I am one of the people who has issues with this series. It's not that I DON'T like it, it just frustrates me on so many levels - like those plot tools you mention. And I feel like the competition takes a back seat to a lot of unnecessary drama. Idk. I still find it somewhat entertaining so I will read The One but... yeah.
