Lit in Lyrics--The Sea of Tranquility

Like I've said in my other Lit in Lyrics, I'm not struck super often when I hear songs but sometimes it just SCREAMS certain books or relationships or stories. I love this book, obviously, so a lot of these songs just stuck out to me as totally representing this book or Josh and Nastya. I seriously have so much fun putting together these posts because when I do find songs that represent a book or character, I freak my shit.

Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson (YouTube)--Nastya's feelings about her life

I used to stand so tall
I used to be so strong
Everything, it felt so right
Unbreakable, like nothin' could go wrong
Now I can't breathe
No, I can't sleep
I'm barely hanging on

Then You Look at Me by Celine Dion (YouTube)--So totally Josh and Nastya's journey...*sigh*...

Laugh and cry
Live and die
Life is a dream we're dreaming

Day by day
I find my way
Look for the soul and the meaning

Then you look at me
And I always see
What I have been searching for
I'm lost as can be
Then you look at me
And I am not lost anymore

Hate That I Love You by Rihanna ft Ne-Yo (YouTube)--Josh and Nastya, again. I think these lyrics are pretty clutch and hilarious actually.

That's how much I love you
That's how much I need you

And I can't stand you

Must everything you do make me wanna smile
Can I not like you for awhile? (No....)

But you won't let me
You upset me girl
And then you kiss my lips
All of a sudden I forget (that I was upset)
Can't remember what you did

I Can’t Stay Away by The Veronicas (YouTube)--Read the book. You'll know.

I'm conflicted
I inhale now I'm addicted

To this place

To you babe
I can't stay away
Can't stay away

Sparks Fly by Taylor Swift (YouTube)--More Josh and Nastya...Sorry I couldn't help myself!! So many songs fit!!
And you stood there in front of me
Just close enough to touch

Close enough to hope you couldn't see

What I was thinking of

Drop everything now
Meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk
Take away the pain
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those blue eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile

Happily Ever After by He Is We (YouTube)--Josh and Nastya's journey to their own happy ending...love this.

About a boy and a girl, trying to take on the world one kiss at a time.
Now the funny thing about, ain’t a story without it, but the story is mine.
And I wish you could say, that it ended just fine.

We all want to know, how it ends.

Oh, happily ever after, wouldn’t you know, wouldn’t you know.
Oh, skip to the ending, who’d like to know, I’d like to know.
Author of the moment, can you tell me, do I end up, do I end up happy?

Have you guys read the book, yet?!
Do these songs fit what you think represents the book?

    1. I LOVE it when I'm listening to a song and all the sudden I'm all, 'oh my gosh! This is just like *insert book here*. This book is amazing, right?!?

  2. I like listening to music but am definitely not a huge music person. As in - I could never put together posts like this because I can never think of anything that ties to stuff I'm reading. BUT I really do love these kinds of posts because it's fun to see how other people can connect books and music so well!

    1. It's not often, really. That's how I know I love a book if I'm still thinking about it and can hear a song and the lyrics and connect it back. Testament to the book :)
