Alright people, if you haven't already read this book and you are STILL NOT CONVINCED OF THIS BOOK'S SHEER EPICNESS and for some CRAZY reason you don't want to take my own personal word for it, HERE are two of my very dearest and best friends who have listened to my crazy book pushing rants and actually read the book based on my recommendation
.
So. If you don't believe me and want to take my word for it, listen to the lovely Hannah and Betty on their thoughts and why they love The Sea of Tranquility...
"I bought The Sea of Tranquility in January 2013, but I didn't read it until this past January. It was the third book I read in 2014, and my first five-star read of the year. The year got off to an incredible start reading-wise with this book, and I'm so glad Kelly pushed it so hard on her blog and in response to my totally stupid question about whether or not I should read this soon. The answer to that is as follows: YOU SHOULD HAVE READ THIS ALREADY! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Seriously, y'all. Why did this sit on my Kindle for a year? I don't even know, but I'm actually a little mad that there was so much goodness right there under my nose for so long.
Kelly's week dedicated to the book finally convinced me that I needed to write down some thoughts about it, which you can read here. I don't talk a lot about the book itself, but you'll find my fangirl-y reaction to reading it. And, you know, I totally shower it in praise. To quote myself (because I'm lameand lazy like that): "The Sea of Tranquility is emotional, romantic, heartbreaking, infuriating, hilarious, amazing, intense and just downright wonderful. Adjective overload? Maybe. But it's totally deserving!"
It can be a little intimidating to read a book that someone else is pushing so hard. What if you don't like it? What if you they ask what you think? But I've found that it's usually worth the risk. It may not always work out, but it's worth it to find out if it will. The Sea of Tranquility was a book-pushing home run for me, and I hope that's true for you, too. I want more people to fangirl with over these characters! So, many thanks for Katja (I'm pretending we're on a first-name basis because of how much I love this book) for writing something so amazing... and another round of applause to Kelly for getting me to finally read it!"
"Most books don't even come close to affecting me the way this one did. My heart ached, cried, and smiled over and over again. Nastya was an amazing main character. I loved that she didn't immediately open up to anyone, but when she did, it wasn't solely to the love interest, but also a friend figure. There was such a good balance of characters and although the romance was amazing, it didn't dominate the other relationships being built. These characters have gone through unimaginable things, yet through each other they are able to move forward and begin to heal. The last two words of the book were absolutely perfect. Oh.. one more thing. Katja Millay gets bonus points for all the General Hospital mentions! I watch that soap and couldn't help but grin every time the show and characters were mentioned. ;)"
And get ready for this y'all!! My Book Pushin' has officially gone INTERNATIONAL! My lovely friend Stephanie from Brisbane, Australia listened to my sage advice, read The Sea of Tranquility, LOVED IT, and also is making an appearance today!

"I didn’t have any reservations about starting The Sea of Tranquility once Kelly pushed it, because I know she has excellent taste. However I was apprehensive that maybe I would be expecting too much after her beyond rave review. This wasn’t the case. It’s hard to do this amazing novel justice, but you will fall in love with the characters. Josh, Nastya and Drew feel so real, which makes their struggles even more profound and heartbreaking. The book sent me off on all sorts of mediative tangents (the best kind) from Nastya’s cathartic running habit, Drew’s contradictions to Josh fuckin’ Bennett (lol Kelly), I found something to relate to in all of them despite the fact their situations and experiences were so vastly different from anything I can relate to. I could talk all day about Katja Millay’s masterpiece but I wouldn’t want to spoil anything – it’s too good! I will say the ending is so perfect you aren’t all there if you can’t enjoy it."
There. With that we have the final say on WHY you should read The Sea of Tranquility.
And THANK YOU for tuning in to all my love for this book.
It means something fiercely special to me and I hope you all can read it and get even a fraction of my love for this.
Keep Calm
and
Read the Book
